NVD (National Vulnerability Database)

The NVD is the U.S. National Vulnerability Database — the authoritative repository of CVE records enriched with severity scores (CVSS), affected products, and references.

Run by NIST, the National Vulnerability Database is the canonical source for vulnerability metadata: each CVE is scored with CVSS, tagged with affected products (CPE), and linked to advisories. It's the backbone of most vulnerability-management tooling.

Vigil pulls recent high- and critical-severity CVEs from the NVD and, through its Relevance Engine, filters them down to the handful that actually reference technology you run.
